Reports on GBO Convention 2022, Cincinnati, Ohio.

The 3rd GBO Annual Convention will be hosted in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on September 2, 2023.
It is our immense pleasure to share with our Bhutanese Community members across the globe that Global Bhutanese Organization-GBO has concluded its 2nd Annual Convention in Cincinnati, Ohio with great success hosted by Kirat Cultural Society of Cincinnati-KCSC, Nepali Language & Arts Center-NLAC Cincinnati, Bhutanese Kirat Rai Organization of America-BKROA Cincinnati Branch, Glory Church of Cincinnati, Nepali Speaking Churches of Cincinnati-NSCC and Bhutanese Community of Central Ohio-BCCO, on November 26, 2022. The event was chaired by Mr. DB Rai, GBO President /Executive & Project Head, beginning the function with candle lighting and singing of the U.S. National Anthem by Amrit Ghimire followed by a welcome speech by Mr. BB Poudyel, GBO Executive Member & Regional Coordinator for Outreach & Public Relations, and the event, it has been MCed by Mr. Mitra Subedi, GBO Director for Outreach & Public Relations and Mr. Naresh Gautam, Artist.
Mr. DB Rai, GBO President/Executive & Project Head addressed the convention presenting the overall GBO activities; GBO Countries updates, annual reporting of two-year financial support, project presentation, and projected budget for the next three years for facilitating the ECDC Early Childhood education, nutrition, healthcare, disaster relief, and other programs in the camp in Nepal.
After the completion of 2nd fiscal year of operation, GBO has facilitated financial support of over Ten Million (10,529,157.00 NPR) Nepalese Rupee to GBO humanitarian projects operating in Beldangi and Patharisanischare Camps in Nepal. This has been possible through the collective contributions and consolidated support of resettled Bhutanese communities in Australia, Canada, Denmark, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Nepal, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
The GBO executive members and representatives, Janga Kalikotey, (Akron, Ohio), Chandra Sitaula (Scranton, Pennsylvania), BB Poudyel (Cincinnati, Ohio), and Bhim Gurung (Nebraska), presented their city and state updates respectively, in the convention. Dr. Narad Pokhrel, CEO of Neoly Home Care LLC and GBO Project Donor has updated his recent camp visit and details information on GBO projects operating in the camps at the convention.
Event chief guest, Mr. Bhuwan Pyakurel, City Council Member, Reynoldsburg, Ohio, special guests, Dr. Naresh Lawoti Subba, Mr. Sudarshan Pyakurel, Executive Director of BCCO, Mr. Raju Idhingo, KCOA President, Mr. Khara Timisina, Executive & Program Director of Bhutanese Community Association of Pittsburgh- BCAP, Mr. Binay Luitel, U.S Army Combat Veteran, Realtor, former President of Bhutanese Community of Harrisburg, Mr. Jiwan Bista, President of Bhutanese Society of Kentucky-BSK, Mr. Denzome Sampang, Chief editor of Global Post Info and Mr. Karna Gurung, GBLO President has presented their special remarks in the convention supporting GBO’s mission.
In this 2nd Annual Convention 2022, GBO honored with Best Community Services Awards to Mr. Bhuwan Pyakurel, Mr. Khara Timsina, Mr. Sudarshan Pyakurel, Mr. Raju Idhingo, Bhutanese Society of Kentucky-BSC (Mr. Jiwan Bista & BSK Board) and Mr. Karna Gurung in recognition for their outstanding contribution and selfless services to the Bhutanese community and beyond. GBO board would like to congratulate and extend its best wishes for their future endeavors and good work for the greater cause of the community.
We would like to greatly appreciate and extend our sincere thanks to our community artists, Mr. Arjun Rasaily, Mr. Kishor Siwakoti, Mrs. Suchita Gurung, Mr. Tek Dudraj, Mr. Prabin Bardewa, Ms. Renuka Rai, Mr. Krishna Dhakal, Mr. Monrath Tiwari, Mr. Chhabi Neopaney, Mr. Kedar Neopaney, Nishal Adhikari, Ganga Baraily, Ramesh Pariyar, and BKROA Cincinnati Cultural team for performing in support of Bhutanese refugee children education in camps in Nepal. We greatly appreciate their solidarity and goodwill support to raise funds to support our underprivileged children.
GBO honored them with a small token of love of words of appreciation to local event host organizations, Kirat Cultural Society of Cincinnati-KCSC, Nepali Language & Arts Center-NLAC Cincinnati, Bhutanese Kirat Rai Organization of America-BKROA Cincinnati Branch, Glory Church of Cincinnati, Nepali Speaking Churches of Cincinnati-NSCC for their dedicated volunteer services, overall management, coordination, and tireless effort to make the event successful. We’re so thankful and grateful for their generous donations, sponsoring delicious foods to the event, and collaboration with the GBO humanitarian projects.
GBO is so thankful and grateful to Ram Rai & Biskha Rai Arts, Cincinnati for donating GBO project Arts picture at the convention to motivate & recognize GBO humanitarian work.
Event special guest and executive & program director of Bhutanese Community Association of Pittsburgh-BCAP, Pennsylvania, Mr. Khara Timisina, and BCAP Team have acknowledged to host GBO 3rd Annual Convention in their beautiful city of Pittsburgh on September 2, 2023, to support GBO’s mission and under-privilege refugee community back in the camp in Nepal. We’re so pleased with BCAP Team for accepting our proposal of hosting the annual event and looking forward to a wonderful event with exciting program itineraries.
GBO profoundly appreciates the elegant move and support of all donors and partnering organizations in facilitating learning opportunities to our small children back in the refugee camps. We are confident that you know the souls of those little children in the camps are filled with joy from your graceful acts of thoughtfulness. We will continue the mission to enable them to dream big. We would like to appreciate and thank our all-project donors for donating to a convention before the convention and after the convention held on November 26, 2022. For acknowledging donations of our value projects donors and for public consumption, we have attached here a name list of 179 donors who have made generous contributions in the last three months for supporting GBO humanitarian projects operating in the camps in Nepal. This donated amount will be greatly helpful in the management of projects in 2023.
