Global Bhutanese Organization-GBO

The Global Bhutanese Organization (GBO) is a collective organization comprising Bhutanese communities residing in various countries worldwide. Its formation was driven by the vision of providing assistance to those in need, prioritizing their aid based on the urgency of their situations. GBO actively operates in nine countries, namely Australia, Canada, Denmark, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

GBO holds its registration under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code in the United States, ensuring its status as a tax-exempt nonprofit organization. Additionally, GBO is recognized as a Public Charity under IRC section 509(A)(2). The organization’s commitment to serving the community and its nonprofit status exemplify its dedication to its mission.

Our Mission

To provide fundamental aid initiatives that would allow a gradual building of sustainable resources for those affected by a natural disaster, healthcare disparity, and educational deprivation anywhere possible internationally. GBO will mainly focus on delivering the initiatives to internally or internationally displaced populations but not limited to supporting individuals in distress of any kind.

Our Vision

GBO emulated by numerous organizations carrying humanistic values filled with compassion spreading love, care, and hopes without discrimination to anyone in any form, promoting sustenance, peace, wellness, and growth in an endeavor to erode poverty worldwide.

Our Inception

The formation of the Global Bhutanese Organization (GBO) arose from a critical need to address the education of over 1500 children in the Bhutanese Refugee camp located in the Eastern part of Nepal. The education of these children is now in jeopardy as their sponsors are gradually withdrawing their support from the camp. In response to this urgent situation, GBO was created by resettled Bhutanese individuals living in various countries across the world.

GBO is collaborating closely with the Camp Management Committee (CMC) and Early Childhood Education (ECDC) to find viable solutions for meeting the educational requirements of the children in the refugee camp. By pooling their efforts and resources, GBO aims to create learning opportunities and support the development of these young minds.
